In General Conference President Nelson told us to “seek and expect miracles.” In earlier addresses, he told us, particularly the women, that we can pull down the powers of heaven to bless our loved ones and families. With that in mind, I decided on four miracles I will seek and expect. For the next week or so, I pondered the miracles I seek. I ask in confidence, knowing that things will work out. I may not get the miracles for which I petition but I am confident that all will work out. Then I started thinking about that confidence. Why am I so confident? Am I just wearing figurative “rose-colored” glasses? Am I imagining only good and blinding myself to reality? Should I just accept things the way they are and figure out how to deal with them? Then a New Testament verse came to mind. “……be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you…” (I Peter 3:15) That is why I am so hopeful/confident that all will work out. It is because of Christ. He is the reason for the hope that is in me.
I had a beautiful, spiritual “ah ha” moment recently

I remember having a discussion with a friend about this same idea -- I felt I should just be content with the challenge God gave me, and she felt that we can and should expect a miracle or to be healed. She wasn't naive - she had many challenges in her life, but she showed me scriptures that say that God will heal us all. It is in His timing, yes. But would He be more pleased if we are hopeful and patient, asking for his miracle, or resigned and expectant that it won't come soon. I had the image of a child asking for dessert after dinner. One child has a light in their eyes and is asking politely and patiently if they can have dessert. The other child is saying, "I know... I don't get to have dessert yet. Maybe when I'm 25...". Kind of Eyore like (Winnie the Pooh). I decided that I wanted to be the hopeful and patient child asking for help, understanding that it might come later, but hoping that it will come soon! "Filled with the love of God and a perfect brightness of hope!". Love you Teresa!
